Very comfortable and welcoming hotel, helpfull staff and very basic breakfast but enough to start the day. Cheese and wine in afternoon was a very welcome and relaxing hour. Could not fault this hotel
Superb. Elegant beautiful hotel with an olde world charm. Peaceful and relaxing. Love the free breakfast and free wine and cheese at night. A hugely pleasant surprise! And incredible value for money - best in the world probably.
Location great for sightseeing San Fran. Very clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Wine in the afternoon a great idea. Nice to relax after a long day with a glass of wine and good to meet other people. Our room very roomy (we had a suit - free upgrade)
Breakfast a bit basic, coffee and croisants. Would be nice to have some orange juice and toast
The happy hour and sitting lounge
Very convenient location. Very good value for money. Staff very very friendly and helpful when I forgot my coat at the room. They helped sending it to my next location.
Halls and rooms are spacious and nicely decorated.
I liked everything about this hotel. The welcome when we arrived was exceptional. The staff were helpful and friendly at all times. We were given an upgrade, and the room was large and comfortable. Good wifi reception, and it was free. We liked the simple breakfast that was included in the price. We loved the afternoon cheese and wine reception where we mixed with other guests, and were only asked to give a gratuity. It was only a short walk to the central shopping area, It was all fabulous.
There was nothing not to like.
Staff very good in all matters, big and nice room with kitchenette, nice and big bathroom, comfortable, free wine and cheese session in in the afternoon very cosy, prime location, good value for money, good old style
An older style hotel with comfortable settings and friendly staff.
It was well located a short walk to the city and waterfront. It was also close to the cable car line if you wanted to take this to either end of the waterfront area. From this you could also hop off at Lombard Street - the crookedest street in the world.
It was showing its age but for the price it was very good. You needed to catch the first lady on reception at the right time (picking that was a lottery) as she was very abrupt with guests particularly if you asked a question she thought you should know the answer to. The other reception staff we dealt with were very helpful.
We loved our room! And it was so European-esque, with wine and cheese for guests in the lobby in the evening. Which was perfect for waiting for your valet-parked car to come around to the front. We requested a smoking room, and got one! Surprisingly rare.
Traditional in its decor some nice touches, for example, wine with cheese and buscuits in the afternoon. Location was good.
The man who does a bit of everything. Simply rude and a bad attitude, let the hotel down really.
Age of hotel, staff was awesome, was upgraded to a suite, morning breakfast wass perfect, very affordable, quiet.
Some noise from outside, but hotel could not control that. Everything was great.
The servises is very poor
We really enjoyed the spacious room(s). We had the mini-suite and loved it. The staff was very friendly & informative.
